ALAT — audio latency analysis

Latency measured on the real hardware through loopback, not the figure the system reports.

    A team working with audio chains needs to know how much latency each combination of device, driver and block size introduces.

  2. 02Problem and previous workflow

    The latency reported by the operating system is an estimate. Actually verifying it meant setting up a loopback test by hand, with no comparable record across configurations.

  3. 03What was built

    A desktop application that plays a click sequence, captures the returning signal and computes latency by correlation: mean, minimum, maximum, deviation and jitter, with a history of measurements and JSON export.
